The BEST foundation for oily skin? Review: Huda Beauty Fauxfilter Matte Foundation

As an oily skin lady I am always on the hunt for the next best foundation to keep my skin matte but lively all day long. Since there is a sea of products out there and there are always new releases of teint products coming, finding the right foundation can be tricky. And I am sure there are ladies just like me who just like to change up their products every once in a while. Today I will be reviewing the Huda Beauty Fauxfilter luminous matte foundation in the shade 210B Chai.

Huda Beauty Fauxfilter foundation in shade 210B Chai is supposedly for light skin tones with a beige undertone. In hindsight I would have rather opted for shade 200B Shortcake, because that shade is for pinky-beige undertones which I would have liked to see on my skin. Huda Beauty’s faux filter foundation shade range is impressive. There are many shades with all undertones, so I am sure you will find a shade that is suitable for you. I found the shade 210B Chai ok for my skin. I wish it was slightly more beige/neutral, because I feel like it is on the border with a golden undertone. Unfortunately, golden undertones don’t look flattering on me opposed to neutral/cool undertones.

The packaging of the Huda Beauty faux filter foundation is hygienic and simple. The bottle is made of plastic, and I don’t think it looks very expensive with the black gradient in combination with the plastic material. But it is ok and it won’t break.

The foundation itself is full coverage and conceals almost every blemish. The finish is quite natural for such a high coverage foundation. I think the finish is very pretty with indeed luminosity. The foundation is definitely matte and keeps the oil of my skin at bay for 6 hours. The Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation is definitely better for an all day matte skin, but the Estee Lauder Double wear looks less natural and applies more difficult. The Huda Beauty faux filter foundation applies seamlessly with a kabuki brush and concealer goes on top very nicely. I tried the Tarte Shapetape & Maybelline age rewind concealers, both looked flawless. I really love the Huda Beauty foundation, but it cannot top my holy grail the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. I can definitely see the Huda Beauty faux filter becoming the holy grail foundation of girls with oily, but not as oily skin as mine, or maybe combination skin. I will use this foundation mostly for photoshoots and short outings, since I do love the look of it!

I rate this foundation with a 4/5. It is really good, but for me personally not the BEST.

Are there any foundations for oily skin that you can recommend me? Have a lovely day xxx Brenda
